A merry Christmas and happy New Year to all.
I keep my 1911 close to hand at all times. A few minutes ago I came inside, saw my smokewagon, picked it up and came upon a new appreciation of it.
It is a scary object, particularly with a full magazine smacked home.
It is a beautiful object, designed by the mind of Man.
It fills my hand and feels very good doing so. That's because its weight tells me I can deal hell to those who mean me harm, and that with about 4 pounds of pressure.
I have been under fire, long in the past. I must say the very best way to carry fire is to have it but be safe enough not to deliver it. Who would ever want to put a 260 grain bullet into another?
But, if needs be, I will do so if the needs of the Republic require.
I do not know how I got from point A to Z in this screed.
All I want to say is my 1911 is a lovely piece of work, supremely suited to my hand. It is fun to look upon. It is fun to hold. It is scary to hold it, loaded, and realize what havoc it can create.
Oh, boy.
The government wants to take this God-given right from me? Whoa, Nelly.
