Bushmater Galil / AR on GB

Besides all the absurd prices on GB of late, I was impressed with this listing: The Bushmater Assault Rifle

Guy claims he's never shot it, but how do you own something like that and not shoot it....

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

It's not a Galil or a copy of a Galil.
It was their proprietary design on using an AK style gas-piston operating system in a 5.56x45mm rifle.
It's lack of success/interest in the civilian market and Gov/Mil/LE market, caused Bushmaster to discontinue it and start making copies of the AR15.

It was make/model banned in the Roberti-Roos AWB of 1989. [PC 30510(a)(18)]

    Penal Code 30510
As used in this chapter and in Sections 16780, 17000, and 27555, "assault weapon" means the following designated semiautomatic firearms:
    (a) All of the following specified rifles:
    (18) Bushmaster Assault Rifle.

The guy is nuts for selling it at that price...a true collector wouldn't pass that deal up.

It looks like an an AR18

The price seems pretty low for and old version of a somewhat rare design. If I had money to burn and a collection to build, I would snatch that right up.

The same could be said about the Galil, a proprietary design on using an AK style gas-piston operating system in a 5.56x45mm rifle. Yes, you are absolutely right, it isn't a Galil, though it mimics characteristics like the front sight gas block, and it's not an AR, but it does fall somewhere in between.

Here is a great overview of the internals on a post on ar15.com, scroll down to pics: LINK

On the link I posted above to ar15.com, once you scroll down to the pics, anyone know about the folder and the locking mechanism? Looks like a magnet.

I'm thinking it needs some replacement parts and he's claiming "never shot it" as his out for any potential issues the new buyer may encounter. I am purely making an assumption though, maybe it is in perfect working order and it's just taking up space in the ol safe.

Hmmmm, sold for $1,025.00. That must be a GB all time low record which seems impossible considering the current market trend.

It would need to be fixed by Windham, not Bushmaster, since Windham was the actual maker. It would be the same with most collector item firearms.

Parts aren't readily available for it and I highly doubt Bushmaster or anyone else would repair it. These things were junk, which is why you don't see many, and why Bushmaster started making ARs. $1000 for that thing is pretty good considering I've seen them sit on gunbroker for half that getting NO bids.
