    Anyone been to Reno lately?

Thinking of making an ammo / upper run to Reno tomorrow. I have to go to Sac anyway to get a Saiga out of jail, thinking about running over the hill.

Are the lgs's as bare as CA stores? Scheels? Cabelas?

    Thanks!

I was in Reno on 12/9 before the school shooting. Stopped at Cabella's on the way in and seemed to have plenty of everything except .223 ammo.

I just went there. Panic buying is just as bad. I went there for thanksgiving and they had AK mags for $10. Now yoou cant find a AK or AR mag to save your life. Ammo is restricted to 10 boxes per customer. The ammo was Herters steel case BTW and its higher priced. i think it was 7 something a box. You can still find some bulk 40 30-30 38. Bulk ammo is pretty much gone. the more expensive stuff is still there but its bumped up in price. The gun counter was stacked 2 deep. its as dismal as here. Better off trying online IMO

Just called Cabela's and Scheels and both are completely out of AR uppers, 556, mags and most parts.

Reno is stripped bare, just as everywhere else.

What do Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and gun shops with ammo in stock all have in common? They're figments of your imagination.

Agree with the others. It's everywhere. Even here in Idaho everything is stripped. The only exception are those shops that raised their prices.

If there was a pmag backorder clock like a debt clock I bet it would be moving faster these days.

I was just in reno on the weekend before christmas. I thought I lucked out that the crossroads show was there the same weekend and even the wife wanted to go.

I was hoping to go and see what a free gun show would actually be like.

Pretty damn crappy. Same people. $40 glock mags. $30 pmags. It was pretty funny. Everyone kept saying how all the pmags are gone and no one has them. Yet there are tables piled high with them. All over the place.

I guess we all know who bought them all when online was selling for $10. This is all an artificial panic I tell you. Only people making out are shops and flippers.

                    Merry Christmas to me

Didn't go to Reno just the Sacramento area to get my Saiga 223 out of jail (woohoo!) When I was up there I checked out some of the other shops in the greater Sac area.

TDS guns; No ARs Saigas or AKs, two AR barrels, no BCG, no stripped uppers/lowers

Sacramento Black Rifle; (There was a rumor that they were closed, they were open, but picked bare) a couple ARs for $2500+, no Saigas or AKs, no lowers, stripped uppers for ~$350.00, they DID have a large number of Tapco 7.62X39 AK 30rd rebuild kits for $20.00

Sportsmans Warehouse; No ARs or AKs peroid, most pistols were sold out, the did have 20ct 7.62X54R steel cased for $12.00 and 20ct 7.62X39 steel cased for $5 (I picked up a few of both). They were also having a sale on 12ga and 20ga shells btw.

Just Guns; Ditto on the AR/AK stuff, but GREAT CEASARS GHOST! THEY HAD AN M&P45!!!!! Which I promptly put in jail (I have been looking ALL OVER for one of these) YES!!!! BTW, This store was the best store I went to today all the sales guys there were really cool and really knew their stuff. Two thumbs up from me (Also a bit of a feeding frenzy there, which the staff was handling remarkably well)

The Gun Room; This is where my Saiga was in jail (they don't sell these, it was a PPT) Bulk ammo was gone, they did have a pair of Colt AR-15/22s in stock. They seem like more of a hunting gun store (not big on ARs anyway) They did have a couple of nice Rem700s and Savage 110s and a decent stock and selection of pistols.

                    Bass Pro shops in Manteca; I took a quick look at the firearm section, but it looked like this;

They do have some good deals on camo/hunting gear, I got some nice Browning camo pants for $30.00 and a pair of Redhead hunting boots

                    Overall a very good day.
