I have a RAA saiga sporter 7.62x39 (wood body featureless cal legal build) and I have noticed the value of it to have gone up. Even saw a post someone selling theirs for 1700 dollars with just a few 10 round mags included. Should I sell mine and could I get that much? I have a bunch of extras to go along with it

Should I sell my semiautomatic rifle?

Nah, those are practically worthless. Total rubbish. I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands for $100

whatever you sell it for you will probably not be able to buy it back for that price within five years. There is a buying frenzy and everything is going to go up for a while and might even stay there if stupid restrictive laws go into effect that are worse than proposed now. I have weapons i could turn three times the money on but what do i replace them with that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg or will be as good? ask yourself that question.Comment

It depends on how satisfied you are with the rest of your collection. If you have another weapon that serves kind of the same purpose and you need/really want the money then ok IMO.Welcome to OT, where hypocrisy is King, outrage is Queen and the Kingdom is on the shores of the Denial River.

For one, don't listen to the posts you see of people offering prices of $1000 plus on used guns. In order to have a sale you need an interested buyer first, because if no one wants a Saiga Sporter it won't matter what your price is.
If you're going to sell a gun, do so to get another weapon that fits your needs better. If you sell a gun for money the gun will be gone, and in our decrepit economy the money won't last either. The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.

its a tough call. I am in the process of rebuilding my collection. I really like it. Its accurate at 100 yards, has a bullet guide along with parts so when ready to make it 922r complaint I can. Ammo was cheap before the panic buys and I considered to be one of my favorite guns. But I could use the money and if someone wants to spend 1800 dollars on my stuff i have it would be hard to say no. though i would end up spending the money on buying another gun lol"Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense." If you are going to see to profit, wait until prices go crazy when the AWB 2.0 bills are being debated in Congress. Follow selling prices on GunBroker to see how they are trending.Comment

If you like it-- Why would you sell it?
I suppose there is a good chance that you might be able to pick up another one later for a reasonable price but even if you can, it may not be as good as the one you own now.

I was 19 years old when the CA ban came into affect. Had a few rifles that I had saved up and bought. I have no regrets keeping them and wish I could have bought more back then. No silly bullet buttons or having to hide 30 rd mags is nice. Although I have some of the silly ones too
Personally, if you don't need the money to eat, put a roof over your head, and you like the gun, I'd keep it.
