  • Front Sight: Firearms Training

I wanted to inquire about anyone on Calguns.net who have attended the 2 Day or 4 Day Defensive Handgun Course. I just picked up my new Glock 22 yesterday and was looking at training locally with ABC Firearms Training, on a recommendation from the shop owner who sold me the Glock and the Mossberg. Just wanted to know if Front Sight training is worth the money you invest? Thanks!

I haven't been, but I was in a firearms class with someone who had taken front site class(es) and had high praise for them.

There are pretty big discount certificates floating around for 1st timers at front site. It's worth seeing if you can locate one.

My fiancée and I went last fall and
we both found it very beneficial.
We plan on going back for the shotgun
          course as soon as possible.

My wife and I took a two day handgun course together. I thought it was OK and she hated it. She wouldn't go back on a bet. Take a look at Mustang Range outside Reno. I have taken several classes there and really like them.

                Oswald,
Check the pistol and revolver category on Gunbroker. I've seen a post for certs starting at a $350 bid. I'm a member of Front Sight and have attended 14 classes so far. The instruction is very good. I've also been to Thunder Ranch Tx. and Gunsite plan to go shoot with Suarez as soon as possible. They've all taught me new things. Have fun and shoot'em up.

I found the 4 day pistol course to be fair to good, but pretty basic.

Seeing as it has been years since I shot, basic is probably a good cornerstone for me. I see no value in going to a range just for the hell of it and firing round after round if I really don't have the basics.

I agree that the training was good for the 2-day handgun course.
I also took the Glock Armourer's class and learned alot from that.
The folks at Mustang Range outside of Reno taught the Nevada CCW class I took a couple of years ago.
Nice folks and the class was pretty good.
The range was not up and running when I went though.
