22 Ruger Luger sell or fix

I have a 22 Ruger Luger it is the size and weight of a real Luger so it is pretty cool looking. My problem is a hate shooting 22 and it always jams. I also haven't a clue how to clean it. I wanted to sell it but because it isn't on some Cal legal list I can't sell it here. Also I think the clip holds more then 10 rounds. I guess I could hunt down the manual andvtrybto getting working but I rather just sell it and put the money into another handgun.

That sounds like a neat pistol. Even if you don't care for 22, it sounds like a fun range toy.

Also, you can sell it private party transfer through an FFL as the handgun roster does not apply. Remember to disassemble the magazine before selling as that would be illegal to sell a high capacity magazine.

    Edit

Rimfires have been always a dirty round in my experience. It gets the gun/rifle much dirtier than center fire ammo. Also from the ammo type, the location of the primer makes the round less reliable. Another thing is some guns just like a certain ammo brand more then others, so give your gun a good cleaning, lube and test many brands. And....another thing, some handguns may require high velocity ammo in order to cycle property. And....lol

Got any pics? My Dad loves 22's and I can show him the pic.

You can still sell it here in Ca. Even if its not on the handgun roster. If you own it here in Ca you can do a ppt to another person here in Ca. Now if you owned the gun and lived in another state, then you would not be able to sell it to someone here in Ca.

If you do end up keeping it, you should be able to find a manual or parts break down somewhere on the Internet.

Manual usually wont include anything beyond field stripping, definitely not a detailed takedown.

My cousin has the same gun you are talking about and it shoots like a champ, of course I detail strip and clean it for him.

Another thing I did on a 22 rifle I have, is to polish the feed ramps, this helped out a lot with stovepipes and jams.

Sounds like you are talking about a Ruger Standard or Mark I, II, OR III semiauto pistol. I don't think there are any factory magazines with greater than 10 round capacity. There is a 14 round that I know of for the MkII made by Ramline, but they seem to be pretty hard to find. You can send it to Ruger and get it serviced for around 80.00 plus shipping. As stated earlier you can sell it in person to a buyer at a CA gun shop or FFL by PPT even if its not on the roster.
Does it look something like this:

I was thinking that perhaps the magazine spring was old and he could fit in like 11 or 12 due to the weak old spring.

You know that old magazine maybe causing cycling issues also. Hmmm.

to the op go to youtube and detail strip then clean the pistol. get a factory 10rd mag some cci minimags and try again. if that does not work (i bet it will)send it back to ruger.

I'd like to see a ruger luger

Could it maybe a Stoeger Luger?

IF it is a Ruger Mk II, I am looking for one for my wife.
I am one hour northeast of Sacramento if you are interested in selling.
                          Or shoot me a PM.

Just to clear this up... Ruger based his design off of the Japanese Nambu type 14... not the P08 luger

                              If it's a Ruger Luger i want in... if it's a Mark... forget-a-bout it.
