I know everyone is all worried about their AR or the one they wish they had gotten already, but how is the possibility of a new AW ban going to affect me and my beloved battle rifle and it's accompanying pre-ban magazines? It's got me up at night. I know they've been after the Mini before. I sure hope I'm still good when whatever happens you know, happens. Any sage advice out there?

I own a couple M1A's, one built from all USGI NOS parts and the other a Supermatch purchase from Springfield Armory.
Im sure they will be on Feinsteins list as they are semi automatic along with probably the Mini 14.
I dont know any more than "joe **** the rag man" but my gut tells me confiscation is off the table. You will be able to keep them in some capacity.
All lot of bs is going to transpire before anything happens, if anything happens, so I would just relax and enjoy your holidays.

2 main things to consider.
a possible ban might only cover new sales,so if you already have the gun fine. if they go after legal guns already bought that will be interesting.
another thing to think about is not being able to ever sell your rifle. that would kill re sale value.Comment

Oh and they aren't gettin it back. Plus I would never worry about wanting to sell something that nobody could buy but everyone wants. I don't think anything happens that drastic but I was more concerned about the magazines to be honest. Without my 20 round mags I lose a lot of potency even if I never load one with more than 18. I think worst case they make M1A and Mini pattern rifles with fixed magazines which completely negates the advantages of having a truly detachable magazine. To me that's everything.Comment

Nobody knows, there's no law yet. At this point we can just...

There really isn't...at least from what I've seen. I've got an M1A and no AR style rifles.
I fight for all gun rights.
I look at it like guys arguing about Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar. We all dig driving cars we just have our particular favorites.sigpic
