Division of Gun Owners Encourages President

This is an excerpt taken from a news article from U.S. news that Obama responded to concerning gun control petition he recieved.

The president said in a video released Friday that he has been encouraged that many gun owners have said there are steps the nation can take to prevent more deadly shootings, "steps that both protect our rights and protect our kids."

All this talk of sacrifice from some of us is taking its toll.

You know what I found interesting, There was a piece on how many people actually petitioned the white house, 125,000...

125,000 worthless, spineless, emotional gun grabbing morons is having this much impact. I just cannot believe how small that number is, Obama also said he received 40,000 email encouraging him to do something.

That is literally nothing, a drop in the bucket, nobody wants this... and the truth is that support for further gun control legislation is polling lower than last time they put this ban in place.

We have something like 400,000 OLL estimated (but I have to think we are approaching 6-700,000 now.

The media, and white house are pushing this to make people look concerned. This is what "they" want, not the people.

So basically, Obama is full steam ahead, regardless.

Concerning the media, how do we combat the fact they constantly withhold the facts from the general public? Like 2.5 million crimes averted a year. Thats 6849 a day. How many children are saved each day from that figure?

Thats a lot of saved lives that never get reported on the nightly news like gun crime does.

Is the general citizenry aware of that number? Probably not. Would it change their thinking if they did?

How do we tell the country, that the media and their government are keeping some very important positive facts from them.

Unless you are a functioning member of a gun forum, people are in the dark about what goes on concerning laws and legislation. They get their occasional massacre on tv and thats it. I know because I have friends that do not frequent Calguns or any other forum and get their info from me, God Bless them.

I joined just to stay up to date. I contribute sometimes and other times I don't, but I always log on to check to see whats going on, because its the only way I will find out. You can't be informed by watching tv or trusting the media for balanced info. And thats a shame, because this thing is too big to lose.

We need a way to get positive gun information to as many households as the media does. The reasons are obvious.

The general public is in a frenzy right now because A. Sandy Hook was tragic and B. they have been told one set of facts for years by the media.

We need to let them know the positive role guns play everyday in a big way around the country.

We as gun members should send Obama millions of emails telling him not to over react, and then find a way to inform the rest of the populace. (rant over)
