When will things be normally available again?

I'm turning 21 in March and I'm hoping to buy some handguns. The number 1 gun on my list right now is the S&W M&P Shield in 9mm. Everywhere I looked even before this gunrush they were sold out and backordered and I hear that their Cali compliant guns keep getting pushed back. When do you think e are going to see a normal supply of AR Lowers, mags, ammo, and other stuff? February? March? Even later? What's the word from the industry?

...at least six months: that's the lead time at Stag Arms. I think in a year prices should be normal again. Don't worry, when the rush is over, there will be excess stock and prices will be abnormally low. Just save up your cash and wait. This isn't the first, nor the last run on semi auto arms.

Think its gonna be a while till obama passes whatever... Until then, not knowing will keep things pumped up. If i wanted a specific gun i would use gunbroker. Research some prices and bid. Be sure they will ship to cali, some people wont ship to cali. Also check to make sure the gunis on the roster to keep things simple. I was nervous buying online auction but it worked well, just took a few weeks for the whole deal.

Yeah, I'm saving up my money right now. But if they get a bill to pass either the house or the senate you can bet that there will be another rush that will be 10 times worse then what we see now. I just hope these companies expand their factories and hire more people to pump out as many guns as they can.

            Ugh. Seriously? Backordered? ><

I'm looking to get a M&P .40(full sized, not compact) and I'm *not* looking to wait six months in a wait list because Obama scared people.

Darn my inability to pull 700 bucks out of thin air. :/

I've heard that generally generally guns in .40 are available. So you might be in luck.

$700 for a FS M&P40? That is steep. $500 down here in Roseville.

SOOOOO happy that i bought 2 ARs and 3k worth of 223 during the SB249 scare.....now its basically impossible to find reasonably priced gear if you can find it at all...i literally bought an AR pistol for 850 bucks a week before sandy hook...i would never sell it but im sure i can find a sucker who will pay 1500 for it now because im seeing uppers selling for 1000 and lowers for 500 right now on gunbroker!

I'm more worried about the state than I am the feds. These are going to look like the good 'ol days if we don't get cracking.

600 at the local shops here, plus tax, HSC, DROS, blah blah blah. I'm looking at upwards of 700 for a first time purchase.

                          2 weeks

I seem to recall when Bama got elected the 1st time things were crazy for the first 2 years. Then things went back to normal. Hopefully this won't be the case this time.

                            Good luck to you.
I luckily purchased stuff right before this craze also. Im now looking for small things and accesories.
I feel even once things get in stock it will be priced higher then normnal, either be it handguns or lowers or ammo.
Times are only gonna get harder now.

Sakiri, you should give shooter supply a call. Maybe its within your travel radius. Mary has "better" prices than the shops in your area. Not sure if she has what you are looking for but its worth a call.
We also have full armor gun shop. Was only in there once. Place is run/owned by two LEO's. One is a C/O at pelican bay as well as a reserve deputy.

Nice guys, that know a bunch about guns. Even better they are well aware of Ca. legal auto loaders.
