The most we'll get is a boot in the face.

Remember we're still in a recession, and were looking at tax hikes due to Fiscal Cliff policies. An offer of $700 per evil rifle will be attractive to families one layoff away from destitution. If the buyback is targeted to AR owners exclusively, the bolt gun sport shooters might not even bat an eye at the legislation."Wish Uncle Sam would offer ME $200 for my beat up 12 gauge" they'll say.

The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.

I'm so done with NY. I'm embarrassed to even live in the same state with the morons that voted Cuomo in. Guess you guys feel the same about Feinstein, right?
My AR isn't for sale until I say it is. Although I could sell it right now and double my money lol.

Any Federal "buyback" will be compulsory, compensated surrenders of newly-illegal firearms. In Australia they just bumped up the income tax to pay for the "buyback" program.

On a side note, sometimes when I listened to how Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Senator Leland Yee presented themselves, they did sound like they were members of some communist government.
If they can afford to pay that much for guns I'm going to have to ask why welfare, social security and our general deficit are in such shambles.

Even IF they had enough money to buy back all the guns, that kind of printing at the Federal Reserve would lower the value of every dollar in circulation. That would just increase inflation and further damage our fragile economy. Disarm the public and cause economic turmoil... super.

Why isn't this a problem for politicians?? Oh yeah, while you're at home with no weapon to defend yourself they'll have an armed security detail to ensure their protection. No thanks- i'll pass.

Money cant buy the right to vote, to speak freely or choose your religion, to own firearms, assemble freely, be safe in your home, or receive fair treatment by a court.. These things can only be paid for in blood.

I wonder if senator Feinstein will draft a bill to pay citizens to rescind their first amendment rights too.
Things are a lot more like they used to be than they are now...

If they'll give me 5k for the old, rusty, POS Western Field .22 bolt action, I'll think of turning it in. It would be the only gun I own, of course. 10k might get me to turn over a 91/30.
