for 1 possible senario on the market surge. I have no facts to back this up, just some thoughts. Jack Ross Ammo came into the scene a few years back with good intentions to make money and provide another source of quality domestic made ammo.Unfortunatly, in order to grow their business, they had to use pre-delivery capitol to purchase equipment and supplies. Well, they fell 1 or 2 weeks behind on deliveries because of such a huge demand. Then they started to fall many weeks and eventually months behind because their business was "too good". Now look what happened to them. They got sued, slandered, and basically black-balled within the local gun community. Can't say I would blame anyone for being pissed and feeling ripped-off. I feel the same way about my house!

Now fast forward to today..... what if all the gun part suppliers started to fall into that same business model. All of a sudden there are small (wanna be big) companies closing doors because they've over-extended to try to meet demand. People get layed-off, small businesses close, purchase options get less, and bam, we're effed. Conspiracy theory? All B.S. Super clever way to get some gun control?

Think about it before ya go crazy trying to buy stuff @ exorbitant prices and /or get pissed because our suppliers can't make deliveries in a timely fashion and are slammed on the internet, effective ruining their reputation.

This. You don't use whole receipts to generate capital for growth. You use profit and you use your own or borrowed capital from a lending institution.

Jack Ross ammo either didn't go to business school, or the owner is a scam artist. They paid the price for their own incompetence/deviousness.

Anyone with even a quarter of a business degree knows that selling on price only works with HUGE volume, like WalMart and Costco. If you don't have a huge infrastructure, support and organizational capability, you are stupid to try to be the market cost leader. Whenever I see new guns shops posting here, I always advise them, don't try to match or beat WalMart, Big 5 and Turners, just be in the neighborhood and make at least some profit.

Someday, the American consumer will finally have the lightbulb go on over there head that means that they know that lowest cost does not equal good value. People will pay more for good service, a good buyer/seller relationship and local convenience. There are plenty of gun businesses and shops that do not offer super low prices that do very well like Riflegear, IVE, Addax, etc. because they offer better value.

That's why I buy from www.sgammo.com even though they are not usually the absolute cheapest. I like that they are a family business in Oklahoma, they have a simple, easy to use website, ordering from them is painless and I am supporting an small family American business, I hope that they prosper.
