    I feel ill, am i alone?

    I feel as bad and sick as anyone about recent events and i havent even touched my guns at all.

    Im sick about the prospect of a full ban, sick that anyone should die in aggression;

    sick that honest gun owners are being held responsible for acts of madmen and sick that people and govt cant separate these and think clearly about solutions;

    sick that gun owners have fully become persona non gratis in the eyes of the population and that this population, so over-the-top intoxicated on KoolAid cannot have a sane and intelligent conversation about our problems;

    sick that acts of a few should dictate the acts and rights of the many, sick that our government is forcing unwanted and unneeded evolution;

    sick that guns get into demented and uneducated hands and that the result is long term suffering in families and cities, and sick that the results divide us;

    sick that the population doesnt believe the gun community is sickened and horrified by these recent events and instead believes we laugh and shrug it all off with callousness;

    sick that any gun owner doesnt take ownership with the extreme seriousness and high responsibility that it deserves and requires;

    sick that we continue to slide down the slopes of moral and brain decay that these events happen;

    sick that uneducated and ignorant voices throughout the country have become the spotlighted voices of the gun community because it serves a government and private agenda and that the NRA turns turtle as if to admit honest gun owners indeed cause the horrors.

    Within this I consider what it really means to have and use firearms and what im willing to do or not do to hang on to these rights and priviledges. There is plenty to be sick about and i am, down to my bones.

      You're a late comer to these parties. We've all been down this road before....1968, the 80s, 1989, 1994 to 2004....2008 and now this.

      No ban will get thru both houses at this time. This is a Political Liberal agenda that has to play out.

      In the meantime, people in the gun business are busy as all get out.

      May the Bridges I burn light the way.

      Life Is Not About Waiting For The Storm To Pass - Its About Learning To Dance In The Rain.

      Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

            Don't worry, people are just over reacting and are uninformed.

            My wife and I went to the range yesterday, a lot of people there for a work day morning!!

            What did I learn? A p64 is more accurate than a cz82, and a p64 hurts the hand more than a cz82. Otherwise a great day!!

            Relax, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

                I don't blame you, OP. I was going to reload tonight, but I am just not into the mood so much. Reading all the anti crap makes me feel like a bit of a criminal, but I know it is all BS. A shooting buddy called me tonight. We are going to hit up Raahauges on the 30th for the Steel Madness match. Another shooting buddy is already planning to go as well. We are three different guys from, OC, IE, and San Diego areas that will get together for some fun and socializing while practicing our skills, and most importantly, exercising our 2A rights. People at the range have far less injuries than high school football. We know how to handle our weapons and hope to never be forced to defend our lives, but we will if needed.

                I was a bit down, but what others think is not important to me being happy. The antis are low trust people and their opinion is not proven to be good or even in my best interest, so why should I let them interfere with my life? I know that I am not a criminal. If anything, I am better than them, because I believe in the constitution. Family members and fellow Americans didn't go to war, just for me to turn my back on the country. Maybe all the anti's should move to a country without firearms and the right to defend themselves, if it is so bad.

                  I don't feel sick, I feel full of rage and ready to oppose the idiots in Sacremento.

                  The Federal ban is highly unlikely(republicans in the house are not THAT suicidal), I am more focused on the BS that just got proposed by Yee and DeLeon.

                    Join the NRA. Donate to Calguns. Take family/friends shooting. This is how you get rid of the sickness.

                        I fear the sickness that seems to be afoot in this country both from the crazies and from those howling for our (gun owners) blood. It is a mob that is forming and mobs are irrational and dangerous. I'm fearful of how far this will go and what direction it will lead. The demands for someone's head on a pike in front of the city gate is gathering. And yes I have been through this since the 60s when the demand was to ban 'Saturday night specials'; if they were gone then society would be a peaceful and safe place. I fear this time is different and civil liberties and constitutional protections will be overrun. I hope I am wrong but the residents of this state and this country want the government to be paramount over individual rights and will do anything to acheive that end.

                          I too feel ill. Somehow we need some change but i'm just not sure what direction we need to go. I would start in matters of mental health care first followed by some reasonable gun legislation since that is coming one way or another anyway.

                          I get a sick feeling everytime I think of the kids at that school and the adults that died trying to protect them. Anyone with a soul that has kids, and even if you don't should feel some pain. For me the pain seems to be lingering more so this time and I think that is part of my guilt. Previous attacks like Aurora Co. and the Oregon shopping mall seemed to come and go without hardly any thought once I got emersed again in matters of daily life, but this time is different.

                          Is it because it was mostly kids this time? Possibly. I think I too was guilty of being desensitized to these horrifc acts since our daily lives are full of horrible events from around the world. So this time I want to remember and while I also hope that time will heal for all, especially the families of the victims I don't want this to fade away like the others. We need to learn and do something to try to prevent this from happening again. I am not sure what, but am open minded enough to see what actions come from this.

                          Christmas morning will be a difficult time for me, when I am enjoying the time with my wife and kids I will also be thinking of those folks in Newtown.

                            I agree with all the post replies and its good to see some heart left in this world, like Joes.

                            Also, im not a latecomer to any of these parties, i was there too. But for different reasons this time i feel much more affected. I never cataloged thoughts like my OP before, that should tell you something.

                            If people believe this will all just pass over youre creating black swans. Suddenly the hammer falls on our rights and you dont know what hit you and its too late to do anything.

                            Mixed in the sour feelings ive got is the need to also stand up and say i wont comply with illegal rules or any rules which further trample the Constitution. Im not going to register, turn in any guns i have, rat on my neighbor, carry a chip inside me or take forced vaccinations. I wont comply with any of it. On this point, to answer another poster, i dont care what anyone thinks about that resistance except that i would support any likeminded folks.

                            Im out of the country right now so i cant shoot my way out of ill-feelings but im definitely not sitting and waiting. Ive increased my reading and info exchanging, and increased my voice to urge people to stand up. Whether you like or dislike NRA, there is also NAGR and Oathkeepers to support too; ive increased my conversations with LEOs and MIL who i know; im increasing the foundation and looking for common ground.

                            Sure, great, if it all passes but im not pretending it will. I assume it wont this time, thats safer than sticking my head in the sand and waiting for black swans to land.
