Unlike the police, you can't offer "no questions asked-no ID required" The firearms would have to go through the normal transfer process.

As civilians we will have to DROS them to us, so there goes the "no questions asked" bit.

No, having a cop in there will not help. The seller needs to give their info to the shop and there is a 340-day hold on the sale with the gun is checked databases, or the PPT is done which requires them to complete DROS paperwork as a seller. No anonymity there.

There will be an issue with the number of stolen guns brought in most likely, plus guns in illegal configurations. I like this line of thinking though.

Is there a way we can buy back from police at double the price if the Gun is Legit and legal in CA?

Example: Police dept pays $200 for WWII 1911 Colt in buy-back. Can we say, I'll give $500 for it? That would turn the item into a $300 dollar profit for the dept or county. Now the police knows where the pistol is because it has been DROS.

What I'm asking is how do the police who currently "buy back" these firearms get around the ffl transfer?

And complete pieces of crap that you'd sorta be compelled to buy as well.
