LMT. With Colt, you're buying more name than gun

If you look at the specs of each gun, and I'm assuming the Colt 6920 vs the LMT Standard 16, they have the same features: chrome lined barrel, 1:7 twist, A2 BC compensator, etc. Both guns are quality, at this point the only difference IS the name. Personally, I went with the Colt, because it has a little pony engraved on the side of the lower, and we all know that little prancing ponies are awesome.

Edit: the Colt is cheaper buy a coupla' hundred, give or take.

Re-edit: Wait a minute, these aren't even available anymore because of all the panic buying, so is this one of those fantasy/dream-gun threads?

I own both, go with the LMT. Just my opinion but the LMTs are designed with every little part made to last. Just my .02

Either one, I have the same LMT and it is a beast. Eats anything I feed it.

Should be noted however that when I bought mine it came with an AR15 BCG and I think the colts come with an FA carrier

Ha ha! I was going to say anyone you could find. Both... whatever..

I think LMT can be real sleeper. They make one milspec product for every end user, mil and civilian which includes police.

                Plus they are CA friendly.

I would buy the Colt for the pony rollmark though... I already have an LMT. Its spec. Thats all I can say about. Nothing fancy. It looks like the same M4 upper you would see on the arsenal rack.

I would go with the Colt but that's what I'm used to in the military.

Have DD & Noveske. Get the LMT, much better quality.

My existing AR is an LMT upper on a Mega Machine lower and runs well, but I happened to be at Turner's new Oxnard store yesterday and was lucky enough to score a Colt LE6940 from a small batch that they just received. I would have popped for an LMT Defender if they had one, but those were sold out chain wide when I was there. They had just received 30 6940s while I was standing there and by the time my number came up, they only had six. I was so happy to get one of the six available by the time I got to the counter.

In the end, I've owned lots of Rugers and just got my first S&W about six months ago. Now I will have a real Colt in my small collection and couldn't be happier.
