Going to BLM soon, got a quick question

Hello fellow Calguns.net members,
I'm planning a trip to Barstow area to go shooting. I'm bringing mosins, shotguns, pistols... however, I read some where earlier that I can not or should not bring "assault weapon" type guns out. I have a few ar's and an ak that I wanted to bring along. Is this okay, or should I most likely just leave them at home? I heard that I can not shoot "assault weapon" type in or at BLM. Someone please shed some light on this.

Also, if anyone knows some places around that region to go shooting and feel like sharing let me know, because I'm planning on going off Irwin Rd. some where but not sure.

You could shoot whatever the hell you want... if it's CA legal (10round mag, BB, etc or a RAW) then you are GtG.

EDIT: I am assuming you are referring to AR15 incorrectly when using the term assault weapon.

bigdawg86, you are correct. Indeed the guns are 100% legal and under the owners name and they are AR's and AK's. Thank you for feed back.

Can't speak for San Bernadino, as I am in NorCal, but we go out on BLM land all the time with our ar's. In all honesty I will admit that we get checked by rangers and wardens more often when we have ar's out rather than just shotguns and pistols. They are always very friendly but you can see them checking the magazines and for bullet buttons.

I was just thrown off by someone saying not to bring "assault weapons" onto BLM land. Thanks for clarification.
