    Kimber Custom TLE/RL ii Magazines

    Hi Folks,

Receiving my new gun and wanted your help on the magazine topic.
I have done some re-search and I am still confused because
there are so many different inputs and ratings regarding them.

This is what I have found to be the best magazines so far:

    *Kim-Pro Tac Mag
    *Wilson #47 D
    *McCormick Power Mag

Thanks in advance for your help & Happy Holidays

IMHO, the Wilson ETM's are the way to go. I like them better than the 47D's. They seem much smoother, probably the material they use for the follower. I have not had one failure when using them. They also have a very easy way of numbering them on the base plate.

I've only really used the 47D's and they've been perfect for my Kimber tle II/Rl...

I have run the Kim pro tac mags, Wilson 47d's, Wilson ETM, and cobra mags in two different 1911's for fun, training classes and IDPA matches. The Kim pro's are a tad cheaper if u look around and do work well but just don't seem to hold up over the long haul so I have stopped using them. The 47d is good but I like the ETM better, no issues for any of the ones I have so far and the base pad shape really does help when gripping/manipulating the magazine. The cobra mags I think might be built just a tad better than the Wilson's but I had a couple hiccups with them when shooting wadcutter or semi wadcutter loads so I only use them for one of the guns now and usually only for range work, not comps or classes.

I would recommend the Wilson ETM mags, which I believe are currently on sale at the Wilson combat website.

Wilsons.. I have McCormick, Les Baer, and Kimber Mags, but the Wilsons are the best.

I had a chance to compare the Wilson 47D, ETM and McCormick PowerMag at a Gunsite 250 class a little while ago. We were running them through a custom build, a Brown, a couple of different STI guns, a Colt, a RIA and an American Classic

The ETM was a large improvement over the 47D, mostly due to their longer tube and upgraded springs.

The PowerMag and ETM were pretty much equal in performance and reliability

A friend and I used McCormick Shooting Stars in IDPA and 3 gun competitions for several years. Between the two of us we had about 50 mags and didn't have problems with any of them. About half of mine I bought used.

Sold me on the McCormick brand.

I decided to go with the Wilson Combat 47d.

                            Ordered 3 of them today.

Will definitely want to try the McCormick's as a lot of folks
                            are vouching for them =)
