    Should I sell my AK

So I need a patrol rifle and dont have the funds to purchase one. I have a Milled Polish 1960 with an ace stock, 3K rounds of 7.62, a bunch of tapco rebuilds and a 75 round drum rebuild plus some extra stuff. I figure if I sell all that stuff either piece by piece or whole I could get about $1500ish or a little more.

I need the patrol rifle but I love my AK more than anything. Convince me to keep it. What should I do?

Well you already have the ammunition and the rifle. Let's say you have tons of fun shooting all 3,000 rounds and want to buy more; it is considerably cheaper to plink with the AK than it is with an AR.

You can make a little bit of money by offloading the drum and the reload kits and save that towards a decent patrol rifle. Save up for a few paychecks and you'll be able to have both! You can also build and AR and buy it piece by piece, that way it won't be a huge chunk of change out of your pocket at one point in time.

What year did you have the AK transferred to you?

Can you sell a 75 round drum "rebuild"?

I'd keep it, but if you really want to sell it, wait until next December. It will be worth way more right before rifle registration goes into effect.
There is no justification for the public servant police to be more heavily armed than the law-abiding public they serve...Unless...the government's intention is to be more powerful than the people.

You're better off selling it as a lot. The ammo should go fast but you might have a hard time selling the mags. Who built the rifle?

You have the perfect rifle in the AK. You will probably regret selling it if you do.
Keep it, it will be worth more money in the future.

What are you needing to patrol?

What rifle are you looking at replacing the AK?

Long time lurker, and friends with some members. I just signed up.

The "fishing mission" that I'm on is this:

If you purchased it prior to the AWB and it's a legally registered AW, you need to keep it. Because if that's the case and you choose to sell it, the next AK variant you decide to purchase will have to be neutered with a BB and you will regret selling it more than ever.

I'm just trying to brainstorm and influence you to keep it. Although, I can see with a post count of 1 that I may come across as suspicious for some reason.

                  Hope this helps.

Dont sell it. You will be kicking yourself for years and years if you do. Take it from a guy who did. Go take out a loan or go find a FFL who does lay-away. A low cost patrol rifle is like $800 out the door new . You can pick up a used one for under $700 out the door.

I'd keep it.......but that's probably because I'm an AK guy and not an AR guy.

This, but backwards...I`m an AR guy, keep your AK. Plenty of ways to come up with Cash, if you try hard enough.

+1....I think its easier to find a good AR than it is to find a good AK.
