    craigslist mags Question

I have a handgun that was made circa 1990, finding mags for it has basically been impossible unless i custom order them from someone. Today i found one on craigslist, only problem is its 15 rounds. Called the guy and he said its still available. He didnt mention it being a rebuild, makes sense because it looks like a factory mag from the time period. Basically my question is should i just buy it and shut up, cuz its a decent deal. Or should i pass on it? I feel like im being a bit paranoid, but i wouldnt be somewhat surprised if an agency had a sting operation like this.

    TECHNICALLY the law says:

    12020.
    [...]
    (2) Commencing January 1, 2000, manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity magazine.
So while you are the buyer and that is not listed in the PC, you would still be party to a crime.

Just ask him to take them apart first, I would think most people would not have a problem with that...

Then buy them and block them to 10 rounds before you assemble them.

    12020

    (25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
    (A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
    (B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
    (C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

Just have him disassemble it and put it in a ziplock. And no, it's not a sting, but why do anything illegal.

You can't shut up about it now as it is stored on the net.

That being said, as the others have said, ask him to take it apart and you'll buy it so neither of you will be violating state law.

        If he refuses, walk away.

i would also ask if he could disassemble them. there is a guy in my local area that is selling 15rd m9 mags (disassembled) on craigslist. he also states in his fs post that they are infact disassembled to be ca legal transaction.

              Fixed it for ya.

That is hypothetical and there has not been a conviction of a buyer for being an accessory to "selling" that I'm aware of.

                Did I say found guilty?

No I said "you would still be party to a crime" which you would be. No matter if convicted or not.

                No fix needed.
