Green vs White Weapon mounted light

Just came across this site lasergenetics.com and noticed they are the only company manufacturing green tactical lights. Anyone have any experience using green vs white weapon mounted lights? Pros/cons?

Also, please vote on which light you use/recommend above.

I see Lasers on their site but no flashlights.

Green Lasers are growing in use. Green Flashlights would be almost useless IMHO.

never heard of these... red is ok for small area would since it doesn't dilate your eyes as much as white. In the service we would have red lens glasses we would wear before watches to sharpen your night vision and in case light was accidentally shined toward you you put them on quickly.

I heard purple illuminates blood and turns it shinny black which can be seen very easy.

I have to research this green light theory.

green lasers are just a fad. I don't think they give any real advantage over red.

At night there's no advantage, but when the area around you is brightly illuminated, green lasers are FAR more visible than a red laser of equal wattage. It really does make a difference.

As far as green flashlights go, Jesus, that's just retarded. Red and white are the only two colors of flashlight you should ever need. Red does less damage to your night vision, but white lets you see farther. It's all about the wave lengths.

The new Arctic is more intense than ever before, with over 3,500mW of fully variable power, all-new modes, and a laser power indicator. Prepare to witness what the next generation of ultimate laser technology can do.

white light with a red filter that can be flipped off to make a fast transition to white light

I really like these, as they provide you options. Someone mentioned above why red light filters help.

Actually there is a green strobe that exists to confuse and disorientate an attacker.

Green lasers are far superior to red laser light in daytime conditions. I use green laser in my day to day business and am able to pinpoint targets and see the light hundreds of yards away in bright daylight. Red just disappears into the fray.

Green flashlight illumination is also a very effective tool. As a pilot, I use green illumination and it has found it's way into cockpits of aircraft worldwide. Military use was it's initial use. The benefit is the human eye reacts to it similar to that of red light and it won't screw up with your night vision. Study Rods & Cones in physiology of the human eye. The added benefit is that green light allows the eye to see the color red which is found in very important informational areas on aeronautical charts. Red light complete washes out any red print or colors close to red print that is found on charts. This is bad when it's something that needs to be recognized.

So, bottomline...in certain applications, green laser and illumination is superior than the old standard of red light.

white light, but id imagine a green laser is more useful if one was needed. however, there are a lot of technological limitations that arise with green lasers not present with a red laser simply due to material properties/physics that people don't have a work around for yet.

also keep the following graph in mind (sensitivity vs wavelength). remember that you need to add up the area under each curve as all 3 types of cones work together in the eye.

What I've read about green light is that it helps enhance contrast and depth perception, as long as it isn't too bright. IMO, if you want a light on a weapon you are using [to presumably stop a threat], use white light so you can clearly see everything. It may not be as stealth as some other color, but it does what you need it to do.

I have a green light and a white light on my hog gun and a red & white for coyotes, hunting in the dark. Green will pick up the hogs in the dark without causing them to bolt as also with the red for coyotes. Once located, I use the white light to sight my scope on the hog or 'yote.

Other than allowing better vision without a major loss of vision darkness when you turn them off, I can't see a good reason for a HD weapon.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.
