    Help identify this Ruger handgun

So Fresno PD has a Facebook page and posts arrested suspects and their weapons. Most are junk, but a few things are nice.

I know the .22 is a Ruger MK, but I or II? value?

I think it is a proactive thing FPD is doing, funny that they did post some FUD and CGN'ers corrected them into using proper terminology!

It runs around the same price the Rock Island 45 with Zombie grips goes for they posted a few minutes ago.

$450 usually for that almost Buntline Ruger

Best guess, a MKII Target with 10 inch bull barrel. These were made for metallic silhouette shooting. Collectable.

Ruger MkII, as it has the relief scallops at rear for the bolt. MkI did not have this feature.

The shotgun looks like an Ithaca 37.

It's a MkII. They never made a 10" Mark I. They usually sell bare for $4-500.

I thought MK II's have a push button mag release?

MKIII were the first for the push button mag release in the MK series, MKI and MKII heel clip retention.

Showing scary guns used in scary crimes......

The public might associate guns with criminals.

It would be better to post the arestees and then the max charges they face for their crime.

IE "these two men were arrested robbing a gas station. As they used firearms, they face X additional years in state prison"
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Fresno is pretty good about putting up pictures of the arrested along with the charges, and identifying the gang that they are involved in. Along with stating if the gun was reported stolen etc.. And quick to change the identification of the gun when told what makes it what it is. Along with stating and apologizing for an incorrect identification as a illegally configured etc. They do seem to actually care and try hard.

You beat me to the reply. Like I said in the OP, FPD had spewed some FUD when they first started their page and is very receptive to comments from CGN members on FB and is very conscientious of terminology. They deserve credit for being proactive. Their descriptions are usually very long, with many details of the arrested and circumstances of the crime.

In times of budget shortfalls, I would like to see non-stolen guns put up for sale. I think this is an avenue PD's should take for revenue.
