    Non-lead Ammunition cost!!!

I just purchased a coupla boxes of 180gr. .300wm for a hunt later this year in the condor/non-lead bullet zone. Federal ammo with Barnes TSX bullets. Wholesale cost me approximately $47 per box of 20. Retail is around $53. These are some crazy prices! You can buy Federal non-premium lead core ammo as low as $19 per box! Where will it end?

Contact DFG and ask how to get some or all of your money back. There's supposed to be some kind of supliment (sp?) from the state for people buying lead free ammo. Another way to do it would be to buy some leadfree bullets and load your own. Check out Barnes Bullets, they're all lead free and have been for years.

wait until one of those damn birds choke and dies on a lead free bullet. then see what the prices will be. it will be some degradable bullet or some crazy stuff like that you will have to hunt with.

lol Condor-edible bullet. It's nutritious! The damned bird would probably choke on it, then you'd see "no bullets larger than .17"

Take a look at the DFG FAQ. They clearly state there are no funds available

          Per DFG website:
How about the non-lead ammunition coupon program described in AB 821?
There is no funding to implement the coupon program. The program will not be
          implemented without funding.

But, we NEED to keep bugging them about this. Maybe they'll see the light and realize that their phone time is worth something.

They are gumm'nt workers, their time is pricless, or is that worthless.

So, let's see, legislature passes a law, we have to change our ways to comply, but the DFG doesn't have to follow their part? Typical for CA.
