More liberals are shooting their own supper:

Hunting is undeniably in vogue among the bearded, bicycle-riding, locavore set. The new trend might even be partly behind a recent 9 percent increase from 2006 to 2011 in the number of hunters in the United States after years of decline. Many of these new hunters are taking up the activity for ethical and environmental reasons.

I am not a hunter, but I think this is in general a good trend. Making guns normal and everyday. Slowly but surely.

I am definitely someone who became a hunter because I wanted to source as much as my own meat. So I guess I must be some sort of "hipster" then.

Definitely have met a lot of people over the past few years proceeding from the same approach (see also the Michael Pollan's chapter about hunting wild pigs), in the SF Bay Area and beyond.

It's indeed a very good trend. Do not expect all those people to join the NRA, but they are ripe for the CGF. I know I do a lot of evangelization for gun rights and the legal work done by the CGF with these new gun owners, and they're receptive (and I'm sure some are lurking in here).

Plenty of liberals have been shooting and hunting for a long time. It is only the ignorant people that think differently.
