Just food for thought about an "armed America"

    Interesting slant on things

    AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty Amazing!
The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about this...

A blogger added up the deer license sales
in just a handful of states and

    arrived at a striking conclusion:

    There were over 600,000 hunters
this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number:

    Over the last several months,
    Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth
    largest army in the world.

More people under arms than in Iran .

    More than France and Germanycombined.

These people deployed to the woods of a
single American state, Wisconsin, to hunt
with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the
750,000 who hunted the woods ofPennsylvania
and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom

have now returned home safely. Toss in a
quarter million hunters in West Virginia
and it literally establishes the fact that the

hunters of those four states alone would

comprise the largest army in the world.
And then add in the total number of hunters
in the other 46 states. It's millions more.

    The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign

invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting.... it's not just a way to fill the freezer...
It's a matter of national security.

    ***************************************
That's why all enemies, foreign and

domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.
    Have A Great Day!
    -------------------------------------
Overall it's true, so if we

    disregard some assumptions that hunters

don't possess the same skills as soldiers,
    the question would still remain...
what army of 2 million would want

to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens.
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.

      Wrong.

The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.

That didn't stop the attack on 9/11. Some of our enemies are proud to die, what makes you think they will stop because we have firearms. Remember, some of our enemies have no problem strapping a bunch of explosives on to themselves and dying just to possibly kill one or two of us.

Well I mean they did say invasion, not attack.

Remember that some of our citizens stopped some of that attack.

I do think we have a large number of armed veterans and LEOs though, many would be good leaders.

                            Do we?

I believe the situation is more diffuse than is commonly perceived. When we look at "gun owners" as a whole, we're not talking about some monolithic organization. The number of people like us who shoot frequently and are involved in the politics and realistic fun of shooting are in the minority.

Even among Law Enforcement and LE we see that only a fraction of the membership of each actually give a damn about expert use of firearms. Some cops can't be bothered to tell you the name of the gun they carry every day on their hip.

Out of the 600,000 'hunters' in Wisconsin, perhaps 6000 of them are dedicated enough shooters to pose a threat. While I won't disagree with the idea that we do as a nation have a lot of expert civilian shooters and vets in the mix, we can't claim that of everyone who's bought a firearm.
