How do I get an FFL?

    Hi guys,

I have a C&R but I want an FFL license to be able to get firearms transferred directly to me without having to pay someone $100 for xfer.

Can you point me in the right direction?

    Cheers!

First step is to stock up on vaseline. You will need it, trust me.

Your stated purpose/justification for getting an FFL must not be to further your own gun collection. Read the ATF FAQ for a start.

I would also like to offer a low cost way to transfer so someone else wouldn't be compelled to get an FFL for that purpose.

I need links to applications and things like that.

I think you need more than someone else posting up "links to applications and things like that"...

Okay, so I meet all the requirements.

                  Which applications do I need?

It seems the biggest problem is their idea of a facility and its requirements.

Realistically, without a storefront and a business behind it you really can't get an 01 FFL. Many have investigated this for purposes of cheap gun purchase and transfer, including myself. Unless your motivation is to open and run a legitimate gun shop and you have the investment capital to do so, it's not worth the time, effort and expense. At least, that's the conclusion I came to.

you can run a small gun store out of your house. my next door neibghor does it and he does mainly ppt. he does sell new but he does not stock anything. i have been thinking about it myself and just doing dealer to dealer. i have a friend that is wanting out of the gun sales from a pawn shop. he has a ton of guns and i have been thinking about listing them and doing a dealer to dealer web site or something like that. i wouldnt have to stock anything he already stocks the guns and i would just buy them from him and resale them. that way he doesn't have to deal with anybody but me.
