Are MP-5 and clones totally illegal here in CA?

I love the style so much. Got an airsoft MP-5SD3...totally awesome, but gets tiring pulling the spring back every shot

yes there are legal clones (minus evil features) they are expensive, $1000-1500. BSP is getting some in soon, I beleive they are bobcats but am not sure.

The receivers are hard to get becuase most dealers won't ship them to CA. Even if they are not named and do not have PG.

I don't think they are BW since they start at $1,350. It would be more likely SW $800.

Yes, but these have always been available, and will continue to be. No need to worry about them getting listed, because they can't.

They just fall under SB-23 generic definition or not. Unlike the AR situation, these will probably never be recognized or listed.

personally im not a big fan of SW or Bobcat. i once owned a SW-5 many moons ago and it was a jam-o-matic. the owners manual said i had to fire 1000 rounds of +P+ ammo to "break it in" to ensure reliability.

im lucky, now i have four HK MP5's of various flavors (MP5A2, MP5A3, MP5SD2, and MP5K-N) and absolutely love them.

there is a HUGE difference between an American clone and a HK factory weapon. the HK finish is better, more precise, replacement parts do not require "gunsmithing", and most importantly, it is more reliable and more accurate.

Well unfortunately we can't get a genuine HK so it's either clone or nothing.

Well, I'm also not a big fan or SW or BW but you have to realize that we don't have that many options!
Nobody in their right set of mind would dare to compare BW or SW with HK. That's pretty obvious but as Bling Bling said
Since we can't have HK stuff, I think that a BW or SW is better than nothing, right? We can't be picky...
