What to do with ammo cans?

What do you guys do with all the left over ammo cans you have laying around? I buy a lot of .45ACP, 9mm, and .45LC from Miwall and have stacks of 7.62 steel and those plastic cans they sell .45LC in and I don't know what to do with them. Any creative ideas?

as others have said... store ammo in ammo cans! But when ammo is gone I use them for storage. I used to buy them when I was a kid just because they were cool things to look at.

When Miwall was in town last time (Cow Palace Gun show), they told me that they will take the old can back for $2 each. I know that $2 is no big deal - but if you have 50... that's $100 you're looking at already.

As for me - I just gave them to my friend (new gun owner)... they just love it!

Clean undented ones make great chassis for homebrew electronic test gear/instrumentation.

Years ago I installed some bent sheetmetal front panels inside the box proper, below lid level so lid could close and not interfere with toggle switches and knobs...

One of my nice ammo boxes is getting some modified ham radio gear mounted in it, along with some sealed lead-acid batteres...
