    Hold at FedEx Location?

I have some ammo coming and I may miss the FedEx truck, but when I try to have the package held I get this message... "We regret any inconvenience but Hold at FedEx Location service is not available for this shipment because it contains ORMD." Does anyone know what my options are going to be?

Pretty sure Fed-Ex is open 24/7.

I know this is a radical thought, but have you considered calling and asking them?

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

I don't like social interaction ...I can try calling, I've just always been able to have them hold a package at a facility in the past and thought that calling would get me the same response, thanks for the suggestion.

I understand the ORMD part, but didn't know that affected holding a package for pickup...I thought maybe someone had been in this situation before and could shed some light...thanks for referencing me to Google, that is helpful

That's a good idea, but wouldn't be appropriate where I work, thank you though.

Check the address on the notice the driver left on your door, thats their garage, I always get the package their after work. The drivers are always back to their garage by 6:00 PM and the office is usually open until 7:30PM for pick up, just show their with the fedex notice left in your door with you and a DL and you can get our package.

I printed out a form from the their sight that I had to sign and leave for the Fed-Ex guy,so he would leave cell phone at the door, that's the only address ATT would send it.. and it had to be signed for.

I work at a government agency, with all kinds of policies for things we can't do or have, I ship everything to work with the exception of parts with serial#s or hazardous materials.
Packages with Tactical, Combat, Cabelas, BCM... on them all the time,HR calls me and say's "you have a package from Wilson Combat here" No problem.

FedEx's website is a little (okay, really) ambiguous, but it seems like hold at location is not an available service for things marked hazmat or ORM-D.

In situations like this I usually just drive to the hub and pick up the package if I miss delivery. I track the package from work, and when it shows that delivery was missed and the package was returned to the station, I get in my car and go there with a printout of the tracking page from the website.

They can't just leave it at your door? Is it signature required or something?

I believe they need I'd for age verification.

I usually order from aimsurplus and ammunitiontogo and they always ship ups and is waiting at my door when I get home.
