arrgh rant/question

First of all cal guns has been very helpful in my quest for an evil black rifle. I bought an OLL which I should be picking up tomorow and after reading good things about the del-ton uppers I bought one of their kits on monday, today I got the mags and rear sights in the mail so other than the kit I am good to go. unfortunately... I called Del-Ton and they are two weeks delayed to ship, and they are on back order of the magpul CTR? stock I ordered with the kit and the sandard barrel. my question is...should I upgrade to a chrome lined barrel and downgrade to a regular 6 position stock so I can have it shipped in two weeks, or should I wait the minimum two weeks for the CTR stock and keep the standard barrel? is it worth it? or would I be better off with the upgraded barrel and drop to standard stock?

I would definatly upgrade to the crome lined barrell.

I would say upgrade to the chrome-lined if its in your budget but still wait for the CTR stock.

The CTR is great. From someone who works in a gun shop I feel bad when people settle for "available" parts. Its not what you wanted so if you wait you will be happier when its all done. You can settle and upgrade later but you might as well wait and save some money.

I know its hard when your building your first, but in the long run you will be glad you waited.

You think 2 week is bad I waited 4 months for my stoner upper and im waiting till the end of March for a shipment from dpms. Quality parts are worth the wait, and +1 on the chrome lining I think that lesson was learned in Vietnam.
