So you have to be 21 to buy stripped lowers... does this mean they follow the same rule as handguns, ie I can only buy one every 30 days? I just bought a 1911, can I DROS a stripped lower before 30 days is up? It will be for a rifle, not an AR pistol.

buy as many 80% as you want and you wont have to deal with ANY DROS!
Sorry I know this does not answer your question.sigpic

Stripped lowers are not handguns, rifles or shotguns. So, the exemptions or special rules which apply to handguns, shotguns and rifles do not apply to stripped lowers. Buy as many as you want to at once. There's no need to wait.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

I'll probably get an 80% lower at some point but I want to keep costs down for my first build. After custom engraving, paying someone to use a CNC machine, and anodizing the lower it's gonna increase the cost quite a bit. Future project for sure but for now I'm gonna go the stripped lower route.Comment

Thanks.
Can anyone recommend a good place to get lowers in Sac? Sac black rifle or RCGE maybe?Comment

Stripped lowers, you can DROS 5 stripped lowers per DROS. Can you do more than 1 DROS at one time. No idea.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I always recommend Cali Tactical off Douglas and Sunrise in Roseville. They had some Anderson lowers for $89.99. Great guys over there.*********************
WTS:
1. PW 800+ Hydro Multispeed (just the hydraulic unit that also works with Spolar press)
2. PW 800B converted to 800C (12 gauge) with lots of accessories and upgrades
3. Hornady 366 (12 gauge)

not sure way you think this is.you think this is the case but the DROS will let you list 99 firearms per the postings of multiple FFLs on this forum.
sure, you can. just cost you another $25Can you do more than 1 DROS at one time. No ideaJack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Wrong. There is no law limiting DROS to 5 stripped lowers. That sounds exactly like a local FFL policy because they aren't smart enough to add another sheet to the 4473 like the instructions clearly outline.
99 is the maximum for long guns? I have never bothered to try it. I don't think I have ever gone over about 12-15.www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.Comment

thank you for clarifying,
they have only let me buy 5 at a time in the past.
maybe this is how FFL can keep inventory.

My Brother and I went out on Black Friday to check out the gun stuff and RGCE was the first place we visited, The cheapest lower started @ $129.99- meh..
SBR was a mad house by the time we got out there and they had a huge box of Anderson lowers, be we didn't bother staying too long.
We then went to Discount Shooters Supply off of Melody Lane and they had Aero Precision lowers for $89.99 (my bro dros'd 2) and Anderson lowers for $79.99. I was not impressed with Anderson lowers, the finish looked like crap and they had grinder marks on them.Comment

Yea, maybe? I guess it just goes to show that some with FFLs, like any other small business, aren't the brightest. The idea behind any retail store is to sell inventory instead of keeping it. But, there are some small business owners who aren't the best business people out there. That's one reason why some small businesses come and go so quickly.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor
