Question regarding concealment while in woods.

If I am in the woods hiking and fishing and my t-shirt is concealing my gun, am I in violation of the law? Do I really need to tuck my t-shirt into my shorts or pants so it is obvious I have a holstered gun on my hip? Would DFG or a Ranger arrest me or write me a ticket and would this revoke me from owning a gun? 40 years ago it was no worries, now I have to try and figure out if I can even walk in the woods with a gun. I don't want to break any laws but I do want to carry my gun for protection while hiking and fishing. There are some animals that will eat or shoot you out there. Especially the pot growers and poachers. I don't hunt but I am 63 and don't need to be attacked by anything on 4 or 2 legs.

Ok, answered my own question. I sent an email to DFG and they sent back the following:

Your e-mail was forwarded to the Biologist for placer county to give you information for target shooting.

Here is the following information from enforcement department in regards to
    CA Penal Code Section 25640.
Section 25400 does not apply to, or affect, licensed hunters or fishermen carrying pistols, revolvers, or other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person while engaged in hunting or fishing, or transporting those firearms unloaded when going to or returning from the hunting or fishing expedition.

In general, you may not possess a loaded, concealed handgun when in a public place. There is an exception for licensed anglers and hunters, who are allowed to carry a concealed firearm on their person when engaged in hunting or fishing.
The exemption also allows the carry of an un loaded concealed firearm when going to or returning from a hunting or fish expedition. You are not required to have a concealed carry permit under this exemption. However, you do need to respect local city and county bans on concealed carry that may apply in urban areas, and also in state parks. A summary of firearms laws is available online http://dfg.ca.gov/enforcement/ Under helpful Information on the right margin.

    Hope this helps, Thank You.

So as long as I have my fishing or hunting license I am good carrying a concealed gun while fishing or hunting as long as I am not in a public place or there are any gun restrictions. Of course there are other things to consider but looks like for my needs I am good to go.
