    Gunshow question

I just did the dros for a Remmington 870 Saturday. I have heard that if you do another before the first goes through they will deny them both. What happens if there is something I can't live without at the Cow Palace gun show this weekend????

DROS as many long guns and PPT as many handguns as you like. I've had many overlaps, no problems so long as you don't buy more than 1 per 30 new or FFL dealer sale handguns per 30 days.

Use the old "human interaction" method - pay for it and drive out to them later and DROS/pickup, get a business card and buy it later, or even make friends with the FFLs there and ask if you can buy "it" and they hold onto it (for a small, modest fee) for XXX days until you can run a new DROS. Just talk to people and see what you can work out - if you want "it" that bad, something will work itself out.

A lot of FFLs know "the look" a true buyer can get when they see something they want (for me it's obvious, I get a big silly grin on my face) and will try to work something out with you - just make friends and be willing to compromise (gas for driving, pay a little to "hold" for you, etc.)

wait, so let me get this straight...I'm very new at this but I hopefully plan on finding a rifle at the show this weekend at the Cow Palace..

            if I am...

            - Buying a used rifle (some vintage milsurplus thing) from a FTF transaction here in the bay area like today and perform the transaction at a local shop, I have to wait on the DROS +10 days.

-If I also want to make a purchase from the gun show this coming weekend, i should probably end up paying for the item and then ask the seller to have it shipped to an FFL dealer later about the 10 days the above transaction expire?

-Is that typically how transaction go at a gun show? you pay for an item and have it shipped to an FFL dealer where you pay taxes AND a DROS fee on top of the FFL fee? seems like this would incur a lot of extra fees

you will fill out the dros today, then wait 10x24 hours to pick up the gun. So in exactly 10 days to the minute you should be able to pick it up. Some stores will make you wait a day longer.

I have 3 guns in DROS right now, all PPT, I would not be able to do this if they were FFL or "new".
As I understand it "you can buy 1 new gun per 30 days(including DROS), or as many PPT(privet party transfers) as you can afford (just have to wait 10 days to take home), you can also buy a PPT while waiting for your new gun to clear.
                    Clear????????????????

Typically High Bridge Arms has a table set up on the right side (as you enter) and is handling tons and tons of gun show transactions for everyone. So in reality you will have a FFL right there onsite to take care of the paperwork and so forth, then you just pick it up after the 10 days at their shop.
