SSE Out of state purchase

Looking to purchase the new Colt .22 pistol (COLT ACE). It is not on the Cal DOJ list and not available through PPT. If I drove to Las Vegas, could I purchase it, then ship it to a FFL dealer here in California. Could the FFL then convert to be SSE compliant? Some advice please.

Yes, if you could find a dealer that is capable of SSEing it. However, in that case, you might just want to buy one from them. Having a 6" or longer Colt Ace barrel is probably not what most dealers are capable of.
