    SKS at Turner's

I pulled the trigger on a SKS that Turner's had on sale, stock is pretty beat up but the metal parts are in good condition. Plus I like to refinish the stocks anyways like I did with my AK.
Anyone else pick up one from them this weekend?

the price was 250, so 250 plus 25 dros and 20 for tax. around 300 would be my guess

My buddy looked at one at a turners in San bernardino and sent me this text:

I was able to go to turners and check out one of the sks's they are advertising. When I walked in the salesman was showing it to another person. Even from 6feet away the rifle looked like ****! It looked very worn. A lot of the blueing finish was worn off in many places and the stock looked terrible! I asked the guy if they all look like that. He said he wasnt sure since theyre kept in the warehouse but he thinks they would be similar. So it turns out these things look like they were ridden hard, put away wet and thrown into a pile and stored. You have no idea what youll get when you purchase it until you pick it up. :-/

A few Calgunners have scored what I would call decent SKSs from this batch, but the majority are beaters. Then again, they aren't making any more of them and a lot of people are buying them as investments I think, regardless of condition. I examined three at the Reseda store as I was looking for a nice SKS and they all had either rust all over or at the least, nice big patches of pitting and rust in the bore. If they would have been rust free, I kind of dig the beat up look, they look authentic, like they have seen action. But rust I cannot deal with, I live near the ocean as it is.
