    end plate options & help

I'm finishing my build and realized i didnt pick up an end plate.

-I am going to be getting a 2 point QD sling
    -I'm left handed

What is a good endplate for this?

I'm confused which end plate would be better for single point vs 2 point sling. Or even if you would use different end plates for each.

    Help please.

I went with a Noveske with the button type under the stock. I hate it, not it is a bad product but the sling point gets in the way of my hand.

Depends on your sling choice. People build the firearm, then match the sling to their build only to find out they do not like the sling..and then need to change the build. Be prepared to change the sling and mounting several times before you find what you like.

I went with Zfield's Customer Sandstorm Rifle slings. He is a member here and offers discounts. The thick paracord belt is comfortable and can swap between a single and two-point if I need it to. I choose the adjustable single for this purpose.

Its going to be your call in any event.

If your going for a QD sling your best choice would be the Noveske QD endplate or a standard endplate with a QD adaptor.

I went that way for a while myself. The QD twisted and jammed its sling loop into the meaty area between the thumb and the first finger. I twice had to jiggle the weapon the free it and have it settle in a different direction. Its all my fault due to how I reach up on a slung rifle and grasp the grip. Wearing thick gloves in the winter was the last straw for that set up. It lasted 2 trips. On the second trip I removed the QD and used and extra A2 sling I carry.

Right now I am trying a Blackhawk single point plate and a Uncle Mikes sling swivel. So far so good, but I am looking into a Mash Hook, but I fear the same thing will happen since the mash hook is so big while the Blackhawk's hole is so small. I have just changed over from a Magpul ASP and HK hook.

I really dont know if I will ever find anything as good as an A2 buttstock and FSB hookup. The only thing good about a single point is the ready carry. Everywhere else it sucks.

                This is what im using

It adds a bit of extra mass to the rifle but the QD fits nicely in and does not get in my way. I've noticed with the Noveske endplates that the meaty part between my thumb and forefinger gets jammed occasionaly by the QD swivel and when I ran mashhooks and sling loop endplates the loop grinds up against my thumb bone. I've tried the Magpul ASAP but the extra moving parts and clinking annoyed the hell out of me.

Another point to take into consideration is that those push button QDs are only for tactical stuff, not everyday and long term carry. Its possible to get stuff caught under the sling and depress the QD thus dropping your firearm in the dirt. I would never use a QD push button QD single point sling system for a hunting or Mountain rig where a fair amount of climbing and moving over stuff could be part of the day. You need a 2point system for that and one that attaches far out on the barrel.

So I guess not only does the sling choice matter, but what your intending normal use will be.
