Quick question, three months ago i placed an order for a Colt M4 top of the line model with folding front and rear sights and complete rail system Ca OK.
Well three months later i still do not have it. ITS ON BACKORDER.

Any advise from you guys if i am not able to buy the Colt what is the next best available M4?? THANKS

Check out the Centerfire section of this forum for tons of information on AR-15 style rifles (M-4 is a military designation automatic weapon, I doubt you have one ca legal). There are many good companies out there including DPMS, Larue, Daniel defense, and the list goes on. This is a very fast expanding market with many companies producing high quality builds! Could just walk into a gun store and buy the colt M4 off the shelf. That said, i dont think colt is top of the line. Daniel Defense,LMT,Larue,spikes, S&W, and some others i forgot are all excellent rifles. There is nothing magical about a colt.

Want a rifle that has some seriously awesome features? Check out the S&W MID. Really a very nice rifle right out of the box.

Colt has a name brand that most common gun owners know of. It has some value with guys who know AR15s also, but not much over other high end rifles.

Its mainly about impressing other people and little to do with actual quality of the firearm.

The problem is if you are not very knowledgeable yourself, you could end up buying a junker.

ArmaLite, Daniel Defense, LaRue, LMT, Spikes, Stag, Wilson Combat, S&W, HK, ...many many more all good.

If you are looking for a head turner go with LaRue or LMT.

Whatever you get remember nothing is forever and everything breaks. Its up to you to learn the firearm. Download and print off my TM links. Read and understand your firearm... that's more important then anything else.

Plenty of 6920's and 6940's in nor cal. Call around maybe you can get one shipped to you.
