    Hoppes #9- too good

I grew up with Hoppes #9 and that was pretty much all there was to clean guns. Over the years I have tried other products, but none have that great aroma! My wife loves the smell of Hoppes. I have known other women that also like the smell of Hoppes. Too bad there is not a Hoppes after shave.
So do your women love Hoppes?
Pray that they don't ever quit making Hoppes. It just would not be the same cleaning guns with something else.

You can get air freshners for your vehicle though on Amazon.

Preach it, my brother! My wife doesn't like the smell so gun cleaning is down in Mantown, aka the garage.

We don't know if it was a marketing genius or a crazy man who came up with the Hoppe's 9 Air Freshener. Whoever it was should be given a medal or some such adornment. The Hoppe's 9 Air Freshener is truly the only Very Serious air freshener we could find. Everything else smells like flowers, trees, fruit or a baby's behind. In 1903, when Frank Hoppe developed a mix of 9 different ingredients to create the original Hoppe's No. 9 gun solvent, he had no idea that some nut was going to make a Hoppe's 9 Air Freshener. I mean really, who does that? But, over the last 107 years the smell of Hoppe's No. 9 solvent has evoked fond memories of fathers, grandfathers, memorable hunts and great days in the field. So Very Serious now sells an air freshener with the unique No. 9 smell. The Hoppe's 9 Air Freshener even has a handy string (at no extra charge) for hanging it in your gun room, car, garage, or anywhere you want the nostalgic smell of Hoppe's No. 9. A 2008 book,"The Art of Manliness," by Brett and Kay McKay, lists Hoppe's No. 9 gun solvent as one of its "Top 15 Manly Smells," along with hardware stores, gunpowder, Scotch whisky, campfires and barbershops. Hoppe's No.9 Air Freshener is the scent that has carved its way into our sporting psyches through the deer camps, dens and hunting lodges of America for more than 107 years.

Sometimes you get stuck just using one thing. I used Hoppes for 20 years before I realized that it may smell awesome, and be the number one brand used, but that doesn't make it the best.
