    303 british ammo ?

I found what sounds to be a good deal on 303 british ammo for my endfield. I am taking it out for thanksgiving weekend. It will be my first time shooting my birthday gift (from my brother). Anyways, back to my question. Cabela's is selling 200 rds for $150 w/ a dry box of ppu non- corrorsive ammo. It sounds good, but the description does not say if the are bi-metal. I don't want to buy ammo I can't shoot at burro cyn.
    Any advice?

I have never seen PPU ammo with steel in the projectiles. I've never read any reports online of PPU ammo with steel in the projectiles. All of my Yugo ammo from 1940 to today has had pure copper jackets over lead. Yugo ammo is famous for not having steel in the projectiles.

Wow almost $1 a round. Is it boxer primed? If yes, do plan to save the case to reload or sell them? If you just want to go plinking, surplus ammo could probably be found much cheaper. Corrosive ammo is no big deal. Hot water with soap will neutralize/dissolve the salt residues left in the bore.

The PPU ammo is good to go. Save the cases even if you don't reload, as you can sell them to somebody who does, bringing down your cost. But reloading for the .303 is a must if you're gonna shoot it much.

If you don't want to spend that much at once you could buy the same ammo at the same price per box from Miwall at gun shows.

          No plastic box included though.

Even if you don't reload, save your brass! .303 brass is expensive.

I haven't seen .303 surplus on the market in any decent quantity for 3-4 years now.

PPU is the best readily available .303.

I use PPU as well, keep the cases, and eventually will start reloading them. Never had a single dud or problem with their ammo. I also shoot their 7.5 French and never had a problem with that either.

The PP cases are very stout and last through many full length resizings. S&B are the worst, I've had them separate after one resizing.

Palmetto State Armory usually has PPU in .303 for 12.99 a box of 20.

Search around and you will find a good price like that other places as well.

I usually buy 200 at a time from them.

The brass is also very good for reloading if you neck size.
