How did you find your shooting buddy?

Been trying to find a shooting buddy for months, (over a year) and can't. I'm to mistrusting to just bring up that I have a couple guns, and ask if the person wants to shoot. I have a couple brothers (5), but they are down in Manteca, Tracy, Marysville areas. So i just don't go. It's a bummer . Where can I find Mr Right?

I went for some defensive handgun training and met a group of guys that all got along well. We all continued the training for all six courses, then all took Tactical rifle together. Pretty soon we were all shooting IDPA, meeting at the gun show and doing all sorts of things together.
All totalled, there are about 10 or 11 of us.

I met most of my shooting buddies through paintball and other I've known since I was a kid and grew up/went to school with them.

When I was single, I entered into a room mate situation with a hot girl. I was hoping that she would have lots of hot friends. Instead, she attracted a lot of guys. One of those guys was a hunter, he and I have been hunting partners since 1995.

Go shooting would be my answer. I've met many a good normal people who I've become friends with at the range.

                  Go to a range, maybe?
                  Gun store?
Do you really not have any friends that know you have guns? Come out of the closet, already! You'll be surprised by some of the folks that at least own guns, even if they don't shoot often.

My first shooting and hunting buddy was my dad. He hasn't hunted in years but, I still shoot with him when we see each other.

My shooting buddies are friends that I dragged to the range that ended up enjoying it. I just offer up to all my normal friends, some enjoy it, some don't.

OP, I am also in Elk Grove. We could meet up some time to try shooting together. I make no guarantee we'd hit it off, but doesn't hurt to try. Also, you might want to consider doing the monthly CalGuns meet at Sac Valley.

I have a gun sticker on my truck tool box that he saw and we started talking. It would be nice to shoot some more often with him.

                              A bromance blossoms...

Don't really have a "shooting buddy." There are people I see at the range & we nod. Sometimes check out guns. I've let a few strangers try out mine. Only one guy I actually get together with for shooting but not really often.
