Negligent discharge?

"Accidents" like this hurt us as gun owners. Its used in statistics that antis love to use against us. Go teach your buddy how to safely handle his gun. And have him take a course on properly handling and firing a gun.

I have a friend who bought a XD9 2 weeks ago and the other day he ended up shooting his hand. Went straight through. He said the cops came, but they didn't take the gun or anything and I found that a little odd. He's very lucky he didn't accidentally shoot his kids, wife, or any neighbors. He asked me to go to the range with him yesterday for sometime this week and I declined for obvious reasons. Wouldn't this be considered negligent?

Accidental Discharge - When a firearm mechanically fails thru no fault of the person holding it and discharges a round.

Negligent Discharge - When a jackass pulls the trigger and the gun goes boom and he/she didnt mean for it to.

You might have noticed, though I know you have recently retired and you worked in a profession where attention to detail is inherently important, but most people these days only read subject lines/headlines/first sentence or so of an email, post, or any other textual content.

I blame all these texting and handheld devices. People barely read my emails at work anymore, one day, soon I'm sure, I will probably have to just right emails that only consist of a subject line as that is all anyone will be reading.
