If Obummer wins, shooting will eventually revert to the pastime of the rich because of taxes and fees that will become part of the experience. Then it will either be legislated or more probably, over-regulated out of practicality for all but a few.

C'mon. The first thing a politician thinks about when elected is re-election. Obama kept his gun control efforts (again, Fast and Furious, Georgia Arms) out of the media spotlight because he knew 4 years ago he would need the pro-gun leaning swing states. As a lame duck, that's over with. One more Aurora, and there will be, too many nuts, and the #%$@ is gonna hit the fan.
He's a Chicago liberal community organizer for crissakes, I'd almost be disappointed in him if he didn't move against guns.
I'm hedging against inflation and bought what firearms i want and a lot of rounds. If I'm wrong, so what. Got a sweet collection and range trips will be cheap for the foreseeable future.

Granted I do think the hype and threads like this don't help. But there is some factual basis to be concerned if you value 2A.

Congress drafts and presents the legislation to the president for signing. It takes both chambers. I think enough democrats remember what happened the last time they went in on trying to restrict gunrights. Obama has been the greatest gun salesman since Clinton. What are the manufacturers going to do when he leaves? Also, the UN Blue helmets with their black helicopters are not hiding in the bushes ready to disarm the US. A treaty cannot abridge the u.s. constitution.

However, if you want to discuss California's efforts, then look no further than what the city of Chicago has done with their "violence" tax on firearms. That might be a legitimate worry at the county level--who knows, the whole state may jump on it. But, everybody will just purchase their firearms/ammunition in another county; so it will only hurt the county's tax base and cost jobs. Brilliant thinking!

I think all of the panic buyers have already stocked up. Look at the last 2 years when ammo was high priced and semi hard to find. Now every store and online vendor has a full stock and has been lowering there prices monthly. Hell PSA has PMC 45ACP right now for 14.99 a box of 50!

Thankfully it doesn't work the way you think. If that were the case why even have a legislature much less anything else if all any president needs to do is sign executive orders. You do know that executive orders can and have been repealed right?
