    Meet the V.I.P.E.R.S

A year or two ago I stumbled on the weird part of YouTube and found the "Threat Management Team" through their channel the VIPERS.

I think its comical, but I'm also a bit worried that people are eventually going to get hurt with some of this "training".

    Thoughts?

Play fighting is cool on camera. Makes everything look so easy and fun. 99% of all "classes" are this way. They teach repetitive action = muscle memory = skill. They do not teach you the flaw in that...which is "you are only as good as your opponent is bad."

Sun Tzu has a whole chapter on it.

first thing you do when disarming someone is to move out of range so you don't just keep disarming each other back and forth like the 3 stooges

Fail sauce. None of those actions appear to have been developed to be used in a dynamic encounter, instead the appear specifically engineered to be taught to otherwise untrained shiela's for use against excruciatingly patient and inattentive attackers. What a shame. There is good training out there but it's like everything else, you get out what you put in and none of it takes into account comparative skill levels. What would work for all those women IMHO, a smooth confident and well practiced draw from concealment and repeated hits to center mass and CNS as they back away from the threat.

EDIT: ok, just watched that last one again. double facepalm. How clockwork can you be and how much can you fail, well that kinda told me. All clear on the line sir!

Notice in the last video how the guy uses Captain Kirks barrel roll technique. This technique has proved extremely effective at battling Klingons and other aggressors in close quarters combat situations.

Some people just try too hard...The super tactical airsoft vests, The super serious almost constipated looks, The "sirs" while being super tactical on the range (Probably one of the dumbest range drills I have ever seen), The "lets hold the gun in the same spot we just disarmed the bad guy in", etc. I hate people who train others who know less, but aren't even trained themselves. Teaches people bad/unsafe habits out of the gate.

These videos have showed me a hole in my training "Barel roll upside down Shotgun shooting" is something I have never done.
Also "Squating over a public toilet because there are no more seat liners but I realy have to take a dump shooting stance" is also something I need to practice

                    Pretty bubbles in the air,
                    They fly so high,
                    Nearly reach the sky

I just spent 30 minutes of my life watching them. I love the testimonials and their TV appearance.

I was skeptical at first until i saw the TV news piece on their contracting work. These guys are real operators: maritime, land based, urban centric contractors that work in the private sector. They conduct some excellent turban tactical training through their MOUT courses and various weapon handling clinics. While they might not be Triple Canopy, they are at least triple ply strength.
