    Wall mounted lock

I just picked up a Benelli Nova shotgun and now Im looking for some sort of wall mount/lock for the bedroom closet. Although there arent any kids in the house, Im just looking for something that can secure the gun in place and still allow me to have access to it in an emergency. So far all the ones Ive looked at do not support a side saddle and thats a real let down. Right now Im considering a few different kinds and would like hear your opinion/suggestions on the subject.

So far Ive been considering .....
    1. Shotlock: I like the fact that its California DOJ approved and can be operated without a key. http://shotlock.com/SoloVault.asp

    2. Loc Box: seems easy to mount and priced fairly. http://www.mossberg.com/cgi-bin/comm...ategory%3DSECU

    3. Santa Cruz locks: they seem sturdy and used by LEO but not sure about home use. http://www.santacruzgunlocks.com/set...pletehome.html

    4. Piece keeper: seems simple to use with quick access http://thepiecekeeper.net/

Does anyone use any of these or something similar. Id like to hear what you guys think

    Thanks

I have a mossberg loc box. It was easy to mount, very secure, and quick to access. I keep the key on my key chain, unlock at night with key still in it, then lock up when I grab my keys in the morning. I like the gunvault's keyless entry (costco has the best deal when on sale) but for less than half the price the cheapskate in me bought the loc box. Double check that your Benelli will fit.

does your shotgun have a side saddle or rail on it. Im just wondering if the loc box supports those accessories.

None of those will keep the gun safe. If you have children and want a quick access setup, these might work. If you want to keep them from being stolen, no such luck.

Either get a real safe, or don't worry about it until you have kids. All these will do is waste your money and give you a false sense of security.

Just do what I do: when I'm home I keep the safe open/unlocked, and I just prop my rifle against the wall beside my bed at night-I won't ever have to worry about having to take it out of something if I need it. If I'm up and about the rifle is not too far from wherever I am in the house, and the safe is open also, so I can access it with no trouble...

I don't think it supports a side saddle, not sure about the rail. I have a butt cuff with 5 extra shells on the stock, no problem with that fitting.

Is there a product like the ShotLock, but with a biometric scanner/keylock like GunVault pistol boxes?

I use shotloc. I think its excellnt.
Nit a safe and if leave for extextend time i put ****gun in safe.

I have flash light and side saddle. I used a wood shim to give more space .

I beleive push button combo the best way to go. Big easy buttons...no keys to lose or bio_bllsht batteries to worry...less is more
It keeps gun safe from little hands and un trained immature adults

I have no regrets buying it

Just going from the pictures, it looks like the Santa Cruz would work regardless if a side saddle or optic is attached. There are limitations to what it accomplishes, but the locking mechanism looks like it would work for you.
