Question about selling 80% lower/ AR pistol

So I have an AR pistol that I built out of an 80% lower. It's a fun gun to have, but it's just not for me. My question is, what do I have to do to the lower to sell it? I know I have to engrave a serial number, but anything else? And, would it be a better idea to purchase a stripped pistol lower, and keep my 80%? Thanks.

im not a lawyer nor do i provide legal advice.
that said, many fear that the liability of selling said lower isnt worth the $.

You can't acquire a stripped pistol lower unless its a PPT. Even then its a gray area as to prove that the original owner acquired it as a "pistol" lower.

Sell the upper and part out the lower, or enjoy your pistol.

Thanks for the advice. But I still would like to know, what I would have to do to sell the pistol complete.

I believe in addition to a serial #, you need mftg name (you) and mftg address (city, state) listed and there is depth requirements for the engraving. I swear I saw a sticky somewhere on this stuff...,let me look.

          Edit, here you go.

Register it to yourself as a pistol, the info in the post above mine, PPT it. Not sure if you have to put the 0 round mag in it or not to transfer it since it was originally built as an SSE.

Once it's registered to you as a pistol I don't see any problem in transfering it as one.

You can transfer it in any legal configuration. A semi-automatic pistol is legal, assuming it is not an AW.

After all, you can transfer an item you owned and made modifications to while you owned it.

You could just sell me the upper and the buffer tube and then deal with the rest as a regular lower (after you engrave Make, Model, Serial # and Manufacturer Name, City & State.)
