Plug in the data from the ammo you are going to use and see where the energy drops off to 1000ft/lbs. also see how much bullet drop you have at that range and verify the drop by shooting your ammo at some targets.

Short answer is yes you can. You can kill a deer with a with a 22lr so a 300blk can do it. Just a matter of how far the deer is and if you can put it where it needs to go.
