Can my friend in northern California mail me my rifle? They're moving and I'm a 9 hour drive away.

I can have him leave it with another friend until I get up there to visit if I have to but I'd rather he just mail it back.

I think it's legal from what I've read but want to be sure.

YOU can mail it to yuourself. usps priority mail. dont bother with ups or fed ex.

Nothing illegal. The clerk will ask about prohibited substances, it is none of them. Do not volunteer the contents, it just confuses things.

For best results print paid postage on line with addys and hand it to them; they love that.

I always thought firearms and USPS didn't mesh. Read you're comment, looked it up. I was wrong. Good to know!
