    Good TSA Hard Case

Hi, I'm looking for a good hard case for my SKS that can also double as a airport carrying case for my prop weapons when I go to Dragon Con.

So far all the ones I've found are either flimsy, small, or plain overpriced.

    Any suggestions?

Pelican cases are expensive because they have a lifetime warranty but they are great cases as well. Find a used guitar case if that is more your budget.

Quite a few times I've been out of state with my C&R license and found rifles I wanted to bring home with me. The best value I have found is the Plano Air-Glide rifle case, available at most big sporting goods retailers like Walmart, Dick's, Gander Mountain, etc. The best part is the rifle sits upright and has plenty of space around it, so if your prop weapons have accessories on them, there's plenty of room for extra gadgets.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

I have a couple of ICC alum HD cases. They are not cheap but if you go to their web site they often have over-runs/seconds for much less. I got a $200+ 2 gun with wheels case with the Cabelas logo on it that was perfect for $145 I believe. The only thing is that it was last years model and does not have the 45* corners like this years model in the Cabelas catalog. These two are going to Africa next year with my daughter and I. I will also use them for out of state hunts or anytime I need a strong case for the range. I also have 2 custom cases for my 50bmg's from them that have been used allot. Excellent cases.

Pelican. They're GREAT cases and come with a lifetime warranty that you'll most likely never have to use.

Pelican gets my vote, I love their cases, and I beat on mine pretty good too.

IF you can find a used Pelican, grab it. I finally found a 1750 for a good price. Bought some extra pluckable foam inserts online and am good to go on almost any configuration. A new one will probably run you just over $200.

Seahorse cases are pretty close to the quality and durability of the Pelicans, as a less expensive alternative.
