    Taser gun laws on Cali

I purchased a taser x26 (or similar) long time ago and was wondering what carry laws are? I don't want to carry on my person but maybe in the car when going to certain cities. Mfg says it can be carried most areas, Cali laws are vague and since they do shoot a projectile I was wondering if I need this locked up when traveling like a gun.

You can carry concealed and loaded almost anywhere basically, in your car too. I recommend the taser C2 if you decide to carry on your person though.

Berkeley has a city ordinance banning tasers, but it is so poorly worded I don't know if it applies to the modern version or is even enforceable.

You can absolutely legally carry. Friend of mine gave a misbehaving young citizen a 25 second ride with a C2. Couldn't even get up afterwards, unlike LE's 5 second ride. Zero consequences and that was in Santa Cruz County of all places. Just have to show that a reasonable person had good reason to fear for their safety.
But as the other poster said, get a C2. I've been tased a few times, they bloody work. Don't want to tase from more than 10 feet anyway, 6 is ideal
If a dart misses, make sure you know where to dry/drive tase (groin, neck and etc.)
Much rather have a CCW though...Santa Cruz, nuff said.

Yes taser is legit pretty much anywhere except for obvious places, But you can't carry more than 2.5 oz of pepper spray unless your exempt. Got to love CA.

Thanks, the c2 looks pretty slick. Had a ccw in colorado, its a big responsibilty. I figured i could get something less then lethal for the wife, that way she can shoot anyhi g w/o hesitation. The mfg website has grown, now i can get extra modules and batteries. She practiced with a target on particle board, the darts stuck pretty deep, they are no joke. I was going to hold them and switch on, but wussed out.

Got one for my wife in pink for when she goes horseback riding. Fire it sideways and works great on aggressive dogs as well. You don't feel the barbed darts coming in because, well, you"re getting tased. But you sure feel them being pulled out. Will penetrate 1-2 inches of clothing. Watched a friend fire one at his Honda Element after training. Penetrated the hard plastic on the rear end. Yea, not a swift move, but it was impressive.

No felony convictions and you are good to go. If you want to trade an X26 for a C2 + cash, let me know (I need an OWB solution for riding, and my old M18 is just too big!)

plus one for the pink, I bought my wife one a few years ago around x mas. They had a deal at that time for 250 with an online coupon. C2 says if you deploy your tazer and file a pd report they will send you a new cartridge and a complete c2 tazer. Pretty bad ***. They are pretty popular, three of my friends bought their wifes one all pink...
