Anyone use Gun Tracker software??

Just thought I'd ask around to see if anyone uses the Gun Tracker software by Bang Zoom. What are your thoughts, Is there an alternative to consider?

I'm having trouble remembering what I paid for certain guns and the details of the sales, price, PPT, Dealer etc.

Additionally, should I expire earlier than expected, I'd like my wife and kids to be able to determine what it is I have. So they don't just go down to the local PD or Gunshop and sell them for nothing or worse just give them away.

As far as cataloging for an untimely death, that makes sense. If anything, you should have documentation of value for insurance purposes.

I just keep the copies of my DROS/paperwork/receipts for all my guns. The only official records I maintain is for my C&R.

If I were going to have an electronic database, I'll do it in MySQL.

I am actually in the process of developing something like this. It is intended to be an online service somewhat along the lines of Carfax. But for firearms and the ability to list items for sell will also be there. Basically a classifieds site w/ cataloging functionality. I have not started development yet as I am still in the planning stages on it. If anyone has any suggestions or input they want to provide, feel free to pass it along.

well, now that I have 2 lowers, I have started keeping track of stuff, the only problem is: how are you guys denoting LPKs, upper maker, etc?

I keep everything on a spreadsheet and update it regularly.
Also I keep everything in a file called "Guns" amazingly enough in both the paper safe and the gun safe.
