Loving my BuckMark UDX Plus!! Bought it last spring, slightly used (less than a year old), and in perfect condition $350.

The single most excellent .22 (pistol) I have ever shot is one of these. Though I have not shot all .22's made, I am quite sure I will never shoot one quite as nicely balanced, as accurate, nor as much a perfect feeling in the grasp.

There are 2 reasons I prefer the Ruger.

1- The main reason..... Sights/optic stays on the barreled receiver during field stripping, so the sights do not get disturbed for routine cleanings.
--- the buckmark, the rail with the rear sight/optic must be removed- so everytime you field strip, the sights have to be zeroed again.

---people claim you can remove the barrel from the upper by removing the screw in front of the trigger guard. I couldnt get it out without still loosening the sight rail...

2- aint no rubber buffer that wears out and has to be replaced in the ruger. The buckmarks have one. Wears out and cracks faster than I wouldve thought...

So, The Ruger doesnt require being sighted in after every cleaning, and doesnt require replacement parts on a short schedule.

....and.... the 22/45 mimicks the grip angle, controls of a 1911. BONUS!

--Buckmark camper is actually the very first gun I ever bought. I like it for that sentimental reason, but the ruger is far better, and I dont regret selling the buckmark after a couple years of owning the Ruger. Got to the point I didnt even take the Browning with me to the range.

That is a new one on me, I have taken mine down about a dozen times and have noticed no difference in POI.

Wish I could buy my Buckmark right now I really want a version with the fiber optic sight installed.
That Ruger on sale at Turner's is tempting, though...Will probably end up with both!

I wouldn't mind a Buckmark and its definitely my second choice.. but I too went with the 22/45. I modified the grips to accept 1911 grips and removed the magazine disconnect. The Buckmark is definitely a more handsome gun, but for me I liked the fact that the 22/45 follows the Ruger tradition of producing a rimfire that can be safely dry-fired a significant amount without any damage.

I love my camper. I can plink Sunnyvale's 100 yard steel with it...
