    New Glock 17 FTE

I was at the burbank firing line range today shooting new Glock 17 gen3 for the first time. The first two 10rd magazines cycled through without a problem. Then i let my 15 year old nephew try it out. It was his first time shooting a 9mm. He has fired the glock 23 and AR-15 before.

He pulled the trigger with an immediate failure to extract. I cleared it for himand gave it the pistol back to him. He pulled the trigger again and another immediate failue to extract. Rinse and repeat and the 3rd failure to extract. I then took the pistol from him, cleared it and fired off the remaining 7 rds without a problem. Loaded then 2nd magazine gave the pistol back to him. Again, FTE.

    Whats the problem here?

      ^^Yup that's exactly it.
There is no justification for the public servant police to be more heavily armed than the law-abiding public they serve...Unless...the government's intention is to be more powerful than the people.

My friend always had problems with Polymer framed handguns and FTE, since they tend to be lighter and have more flex they are more susceptible to limp wresting.

YUP, thats how I can get my G17 to fail every time...and I would still carry a Glock over any of the other firearms...the Sig is the exception. I would carry that over the Glock any day.

Are you getting any brass coming back at your face/head with your new gun?
